Privacy
Draft: fill in the details in square brackets and have this reviewed before publishing.
In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third parties unless you buy something. The Klemm app keeps your clipboard encrypted on your Mac and nowhere else. There’s no account, and no server of ours ever sees your content.

Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted by [hosting provider, e.g. Cloudflare]. When you visit, the provider processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, the time and the requested address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). [Add retention period and data processing agreement.]
No cookies, no tracking
We set no cookies and don’t measure visits. Fonts and images are served from our own server; no external services such as Google Fonts are used.
Buying through Paddle
Sales are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd. as merchant of record. The page only loads Paddle’s checkout once you click “Buy.” Paddle then processes your payment and invoice details under its own responsibility; see Paddle’s privacy policy. Paddle passes us your name, email address, country and order number so we can send your license key and answer support requests (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Sending your license key
We send the license key through [email service, e.g. Resend] to the address from your order. [Add provider, location and data processing agreement.] We keep order data for as long as statutory retention periods require.
The Klemm app
What data is processed
- Clipboard contents (text, images, links, file paths, colors) along with the time and the app you copied from.
- Settings and your license key, stored locally in the macOS preferences.
Where it’s stored
- Only locally, in
~/Library/Application Support/Klemm. - All content is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The key lives in the macOS keychain and never leaves the device (no iCloud sync).
- Deleted items are overwritten in the database.
What’s never stored
- Content that password managers mark as confidential.
- Content from apps on your exclusion list (common password managers by default).
- If you choose: detected sensitive content such as credit cards, IBANs, tokens and passwords.
Text recognition and AI
Text recognition and Apple Intelligence run entirely on your Mac. Only if you set up a cloud provider yourself (Anthropic, OpenAI or your own server) is an item’s text sent to that provider: when you choose “Summarize” or “Generate Tags,” or turn on automatic tagging. Items flagged as sensitive are never sent. The provider’s privacy policy applies. Your API key is stored in the keychain.
Network connections
- Update checks: Klemm downloads the update feed from this website, which transmits technically necessary data (IP address, app version, macOS version). You can turn this off in Settings › About.
- Cloud AI only as described above.
- License: when you activate and about once a week after that, Klemm sends your license key, a one-way device ID derived from your Mac’s hardware ID, your Mac’s name and model and the app version to our server. This lets us check how many Macs the license is active on and lets you manage your Macs in Settings (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). [Add host, location and data processing agreement.]
Your control
Delete single items, clear your history or delete everything in Settings › Storage. To uninstall, delete the app and the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Klemm.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to file a complaint with a data protection authority. Just email support@getklemm.com.
